Cyber-OBAMA contro PUTIN o contro WikiLeaks?

President Barack Obama ripped Donald Trump here Friday as a man who’s embraced an attack on the “global elite” only after failing to be accepted as a member of the global elite himself, attacking the Republican nominee for running an anti-American campaign with paper-thin support that’s all about conspiracy theories.
Rallying a skeptical crowd for Hillary Clinton at a small airport, Obama framed the 2016 election as a choice about democracy and moral values that goes way beyond politics — about the country coming together to reject a dangerous, self-centered cynic without “the basic honesty that a president needs” and the party that propelled that man to be its nominee.
U.S. officials are convinced that the Russians are behind the election-centered hacks of sensitive information that could be a ploy to influence our upcoming presidential election. It's quite the accusation, though the Obama administration formally accused Russia of being behind these data breaches last week. Now, the CIA is reportedly cooking up some plan to deliver a cyber strike against our old Cold War adversary.
RT spoke with Jim Jatras for his views on this latest ratcheting up of tensions between the two global nuclear powers.

RT: Would there be any justification for the CIA launching a cyber-attack on Russia in the absence of any good evidence Russia tried to interfere in the US presidential election?

Jim Jatras: This was given, it appears, as an exclusive to NBC; almost like a press-release that the government is giving out as a warning shot or really a threat against the Russians. And even though they are saying that this is connected to the election, there is no real evidence regarding the DNC and other things on WikiLeaks. What the statement says is that it is geared towards interference with the elections itself, with the voting. Anybody who is familiar with our system knows that that is next to impossible; we don’t have a single nation-wide voting system. We have 50 states and thousands of local, state and county systems, most of which are paper, most of which, even the electronic ones, not connected to the Internet. So the idea that Russia or anybody else could hack into those is just absurd. So, I don’t think that is what this is really about.

The Obama administration is contemplating an unprecedented cyber covert action against Russia in retaliation for alleged Russian interference in the American presidential election, U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.
Current and former officials with direct knowledge of the situation say the CIA has been asked to deliver options to the White House for a wide-ranging "clandestine" cyber operation designed to harass and "embarrass" the Kremlin leadership.
The sources did not elaborate on the exact measures the CIA was considering, but said the agency had already begun opening cyber doors, selecting targets and making other preparations for an operation. Former intelligence officers told NBC News that the agency had gathered reams of documents that could expose unsavory tactics by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Vice President Joe Biden told "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd on Friday that "we're sending a message" to Putin and that "it will be at the time of our choosing, and under the circumstances that will have the greatest impact."
When asked if the American public will know a message was sent, the vice president replied, "Hope not."

... currently being negotiated by the US, EU and 22 other countries that account for over 2/3rds of global GDP.

According to World Bank figures services comprise around 75% of the EU economy, 80% of the US economy and the majority of economies of most countries. The global economy is shifting towards a service-oriented economy. Cross-border trade in services for around 13% of the global GDP in 2015; for the EU twice that figure (around 24% of its total GDP). But it is not just these numbers alone that prove that the TiSA negotiations deserve a much higher attention in the public discussion than they currently have.

Successful opposition mounted to TPP and TTIP by a broad spectrum of actors - from movements, to farmers, to elites - means the neo-liberal lobby now places its hopes in TiSA as the vehicle for rewriting global rules and for securing a charter of corporate rights behind closed doors.
The TiSA core text is not the main site of dissent, because it is designed to re-insert back into the WTO. It does reveal two major points of disagreement (most-favored nation treatment and domestic regulation) which are important because the US and EU are facing off on issues that are critical. The major disagreements that are likely to prove most problematic are occurring off stage in the annexes.

While TISA threatens to impose more extreme restrictions on governments, the problem lies with the core rules themselves. The following illustrates some of their main implications :

 Trade in services agreements treat services as marketable commodities, and deny or subordinate or deny altogether their social, cultural , environmental, employment, and development functions. People are not viewed as citizens or members of their communities ,  they are ‘consumers’.

 Those who provide the services do not need to have any connection to the people or communities that rely on their services – they can be ‘supplied’ from offshore, or by a temporary visitor, or through foreign firms who establi sh a local presence but whose priority is to deliver profits to offshore shareholders.

None of these ‘suppliers’ has any long term responsibility or accountability to the country that ‘consumes’ them.

WikiLeaks series on deals involving Hillary Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta. Mr Podesta is a long-term associate of the Clintons and was President Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff from 1998 until 2001. Mr Podesta also owns the Podesta Group with his brother Tony, a major lobbying firm and is the Chair of the Center for American Progress (CAP), a Washington DC-based think tank.

Hillary calls Trump's remarks "horrific" while she lives with and protects a "Rapist". Her actions are horrific.

It’s fitting that the election of Hillary Clinton as the first female president might have been sealed by Donald Trump’s treatment of women as subordinate, interchangeable, pliable playthings.
Trump — a compulsively public politician who has mouthed some of the most hilarious (intentionally or otherwise), offensive, fact-allergic and misogynistic statements by anyone competing in the public arena — might be ultimately undone by a private admission about a woman he wanted to have sex with.

There has never been a major party nominee like Trump, and there has never been anything like the release of Trump speaking about women in the most vulgar and demeaning terms in a 2005 hot mic recording — including the admissions that he made an apparently unwanted pass on a married woman and groped women he courted whether they liked it or not.
Americans don’t trust politicians (it’s one of the biggest reasons for Trump’s improbable rise), but they trust their eyes and ears. And the recording of Trump talking with radio and TV host Billy Bush makes a starker case that he’s unsuited to occupy the nation’s highest office — making Mitt Romney’s infamous leaked “47 percent” tape seem like a high-minded Great Courses lecture.
